The current solutions for dust containment involve high-level contaminants and destructive materials that are being applied to the soil, hence contaminate the groundwater, streams, and rivers. These materials themselves become an ecological hazard that also needs to be treated.

Severe environmental performance values of the traditional dust containment methods brought the environmental, forestry authorities, mines, and quarry companies to the conclusion that a different dust containment method has to be apply in order to avoid the dust damages, thereby reducing the national health expenses.

Up till now, the most common environmental solution to control the dust damages was the use of huge amounts of water that was applied to the surfaces. This solution by itself has its own costs, both environmental and financial.

How does it work?

The system structures a smart water trap, which traps the water dispersed on the substrate.

Minimal water quantities are required to keep the bedding and topsoil layer moist for a substantial period.

This method prevents the dust particles from being airborne, therefor, avoids the atmosphere pollution.

NANO Z - Dust Control Eco-Platform

A substrate based on bio-mimicry technology made of a unique mixture of nanomaterials and eco-friendly elements, state of the art green solution and 100% biodegradable, non-flammable materials.

The system was tested in accordance with US EPA- 81102 Standard and the Israeli air pollution standards.

The outcome of this method:

  • 85% water reduction
  • 2 to 3 times air pollution reduction – according to the Israeli and American standards
  • No contamination of groundwater or soil
  • A single application of water on the substrate at an acceptable flow rate of 4 liters/m² will suffice to suppress the soil for a minimum of 3 days
  • No equipment corrosion damages
  • Reduces the government’s health expenses
  • Reduction of health hazards as a result of respiratory tract damages in mineworkers as well as in areas near mines

On January 2020, Nano Z took part in a Road Show of Israeli business delegation in Minas Gerais, Brazil, focused on innovation for the Mining sector.

The Road show organized by the Israeli Ambassador, the Consul for Economic Affairs of Israel in partnership with the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais (FIEMG), the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM) and the Mining Hub.

The solution was introduced to a several large companies such as Vale, AngloGold Ashanti, CSN and RHI Magnesita.
